FertilityCare is a new system of family planning that offers additional advantages for managing Gynaecologic and Reproductive Health disorders compared to contemporary approaches. The primary principle behind FertilityCare is that we see fertility as a normal healthy process rather than a “disease” which needs to be suppressed or controlled. Natural Procreative Technology (NaProTechnology®) is a new reproductive science that has evolved as a result of FertilityCare techniques.

FertilityCare teaches single women and couples to monitor their signs of fertility, to appreciate the gift that fertility is and to live in harmony with this wondrous aspect of our health.

This system is ideal for couples who wish to plan their family size as well as for those trying to conceive where there is some difficulty with infertility or recurrent miscarriage.  There are 30 FertilityCareteacher practitioners in Ireland, and about 12 in the United Kingdom. Presently there are only 3 teacher practitioners in mainland Europe (two in Germany and one in Holland).  Each teacher practitioner can offer an introductory information session to teach couples about normal cyclical fertility and how to begin tracking the biological markers of fertility.  This knowledge empowers women and couples to understand and manage their fertility in a way appropriate to their present needs.

The original concepts preceding FertilityCare were first described by Drs. John and Evelyn Billings who developed the ovulation method of family planning. FertilityCare is much more than just a reliable system for family planning. It is a Gynaecologic Health maintenance programme tailored to the individual’s personal situation.  It is a minimally invasive medical system consistent with Catholic Medical ethics. Every woman or couple can use this approach to understand their fertility potential and improve gynaecologic health.

Competently trained Teacher Practitioners are an essential part of the health care team in providing this valuable service to couples. Most practitioners see this as a very rewarding work where you can make a real difference for couples you see, in assisting with family planning, gynaecologic and reproductive health.
